Damaged Delivery Information

Uncommon Cacao strives to deliver excellent customer service throughout the entire cacao sourcing process. We work with partner companies to facilitate the transport of cacao beans from suppliers into the warehouse, storage of cacao in the warehouse, and transport from the warehouse to you. While we do not do these supply chain logistics ourselves, it is of utmost importance to us that we work closely with these partners to provide customer service to you. Despite our best efforts, sometimes issues arise. Please notify us immediately of the situation so we can start a claims process and ensure that no one is charged for the delivery company's error.

Damage Protocol

In the unlikely case that the beans arrive in anything but top form, for example:

  • If there are any rips in the sack,
  • If the carrier delivers the beans improperly, or
  • If the cacao has gotten wet or damaged in some way

There are important steps we’d like you to take.

  • Please first make sure to take photos of the delivery. 
  • Please do not accept the delivery; if you do accept it, there is no guarantee that any claims can be resolved. 
  • Please clearly indicate on the driver's receipt the extent of any damage that has taken place.

Safety Information

Cocoa beans are a raw material meant for further processing by a chocolate manufacture. These cocoa beans have not been processed adequately according to official FDA regulation to reduce the presence of biological, chemical, or physical hazards including but not limited to microbial pathogens, aflatoxin, mycotoxin, or debris such as stones, sticks or other non-cacao materials.

* Orders are shipped from our East Coast or West Coast warehouse locations.  You will receive a tracking number when your order has shipped.  Please allow for 3-5 business days for order processing.
